What's On

Launch of Northamptonshire Landscape Design Guide

We have recently published the above guide, our first major guidance document since 2016's Northamptonshire Countryside Design Guide.  Our new guide seeks to assist those wishing to build in the county and local planning authorities whose responsibility it is to approve locations for development within Northamptonshire.

CPRE believes it is important that new developments should not only relate well to the landscape of the countryside but also enhance and further promote its appeal.

The official launch of the guide will take place at Lamport Hall on 17 April 2024.

Planning Roadshow

Our next Planning Roadshow entitled "Focus on Affordable Housing" will take place at Great Houghton Village Hall on 9 May 2024.  It will deal with the chronic shortage of genuinely affordable rural housing which is forcing people out of the communities they know and love.  As a result, the countryside is being drained of skills, economic activity and vital public services.

Attendance at the Roadshow is free to members and costs £15 per head for non members.

Town & Country Awards 2023

Every two years we invite members and non-members to nominate new and refurbished buildings, landscape and urban regeneration projects.

We want these awards to recognise projects in Northamptonshire that:

- protect the countryside

- assist urban renewal

- improve everyone's quality of life

We are currently considering nominations for 2023.  In due course we will announce award winners.
